hi.

my sand is full of diatoms, what critter can i get to get rid of them. i just tested my waters and they all read 0. i tried moving the sand around but within a day it's all back. i don't feed my fish a lot neither.

so far i have three blueleg hermits, six astreas snails, one shrimp, and a clown.

Time....water changes. Datoms are normal in a new tank.

They are ugly but will go away.

Try getting yourself a bunch of Cerith snails. A Fighting Conch is a great idea, but not for a 10g. I wouldn't suggest putting one in anything less than like a 40g breeder because you need a fair amount of open sand for the conch to forage through/under.
