Is this location for my new tank going to be ok? I know it is next to a window but do you think I'll have bad algae problems?

Yeah. If I keep the blinds closed do you think it'll be ok?

I don't see why you won't have a problem even with the shades open. Just keep a tank with clean, healthy water (low/no nitrate/phosphate) and you shouldn't have a problem. If you get sloppy and allow nitrates and phosphates to build up you'll have a problem regardless - the extra light will just make nuisance algae, etc. grow faster in those cases.

That was my original thought but I just wanted to get opinions before I did it. Thanks guys!

The tank doesn't look good with the shades open though if it is bright outside. I don't have special lights, but it makes my tank look bad, because it is like running 5000k bulbs.
I'm going to nitpick for one second, just because most windows have heaters under them- If this one does it's a bad idea, if not, should be ok as long as the window's a good one and doesn't leak alot of air in (Cold drafts)

It does not have a heater under them. That's a good thought though. That would have sucked. Thanks!
