I have 2 MJ900s and 2JBJ PHs that I would like to put of a Chauvert "wavemaker."

How quickly can I "safely" turn the pumps on and off?

Every 5 secs, 10sec, 30sec, 1min??

Maybe a better question, what do you think woule be a good amount of time?

I'll play with it once I get them all set up, but was looking for some folks who have already done it.

TIA

OK, if its a stupid question you can tell me, but how are others doing this.

Any help would be appreciated.

I cycle mine every 5 minutes. Remember that the hardest wear and tear is on start up.

Well the SCWD switches every like 7 seconds, and the Natural Wave Timer switches every 20 seconds, so I think anywhere between 5 and 30 seconds should be good.

Thanks for the responces.

drjrose - do you still get a good wave action by cycling them that "far" apart.

I know it puts more strain on the PH, but I would think you get better wave action by cycling the PHs faster.

This tank is 60" across with two Rio 800 PHs at each end split high and low. They alternate in pairs from one end to the other. The pumps have good flow across the tank.
