My 75 gal. tank hasnt even begun to cycle and its been over 30 days. I have 12 snails 3 green chromis and 2 yellow tail damsels.
I did use soft water for the initial setup but have since then used only RO for the 2 20% water change and top off.
any ideas why no cycle yet?

TIA

Can you give us an idea of what your test readings have been?

In third week of cycling my tank (by curing liverock) and wtahcing the nitrites slowwwwlllyyy go down now...

Do you mean you haven't done any testing or that the readings are all '0'? Was the LR you added well cured? If so, it is possible that you won't see much cycle at all.

I was told the rock was pre-cured. I did test and have no readings at all...

If the LR was cured and you are sure your readings are all '0', then you are through the cycle and good to go (slowly :-)). To be sure, you could take a sample water to your LFS and get them to confirm the readings (they'd likely charge a bit to do this).

Your signature says you have 50lb LR in the 75g. That's likely on the low side. If you plan to get more, it might be good to do so now before you get it too well stocked.

If I did miss the cycle would not the nitraes be going up?

Depends on your filtration and bioload. Bioload is relatively low for a 75G. What type of set-up o you have: skimmer, sump, DSB, other filters, etc.?

I too would get some more LR and I might get some uncured LR for a little cycle and your livestock should be okay! Plus with the uncured LR you could get some AWSOME stuff and LOTS of color from it! Check out my Gallery to see what I'm talking about! All of it except the softies came with the uncured LR!

Or just add regular base rock and in time it will become live rock.

It could also be that the water changes you did during your cycle have interrupted the normal process. I was under the impression that you shouldn't do a water change until cycling is complete.
