Here's a pic of my yellow leather. It looks like it has something like brown algae growing on it. Any ideas what it is? How do I get rid of it?

Thanks...

Also, anybody know the name of this coral? My LFS gave it to me as a "good" customer gift and wasn't clear on the name, just said it was rare. He has had it for over a month now and my GF has admired it since he got it, so he gave it to her.

Hey KillerReef.

It looks healthy to me. The polyps are just mostly retracted. Are you familiar with sloughing wherein a leather sheds his skin?

No, never even heard of it. Yes it is healthy, just got the brown stuff on it. It was hard to get a good closeup of the brown stuff...

I'd say second pic is a deflated pearl bubble. Just a guess.

Give it lots of light and an occasional feeding of something meaty.

I agree that your leather looks pretty healthy in the picture. Below is a pic that shows what it looks like when a leather sheds. The coral closes up for a while, taking on a shiny appearance and then it casts off a thin papery looking skin. They will do this every so often. Whole process may take a few days to about a week.

As far as your mystery coral goes, it does look a bit like an Octobubble coral which is a relative of the normal bubble coral but tends to look like a partially deflated bubble coral with pointy looking bubbles. As Dwayne mentioned, it will take meaty foods like small pieces of raw shrimp.
