Hi all.

From all I have read from Randy (thanks a lot!!), I´ve concluded that calcium acetate could be a good way to raise both Ca and alk. My questions are:
Why is it not so widely used?
How much should I add to increase, let´s say, 10 ppm Ca in 100 l of water?
What dosage should I use?
Is there any limitation to its usage, or any other thing I should know?

Thanks a lot again.

Cost, mostly.

You'd also need to be cognizant of the potential for O2 depletion as the bacteria consumed a burst of acetate. :)

For dosing, you'd need 1.4 times as much as anhydrous CaCl2, which you can get from this calculator:
