Anyone ever use the Rubbermade tubs used as water troughs for livestock? Any reason to believe they would leach unwanted chemicals?

The Rubbermaid horse trough tubs make an excellent sump. many folks and LFS use them....
I use a 100g one to make my salt water.

here is my 150 gallon rubbermaid sump, houses a euroreef cs8-3 skimmer and titanium heater. I also drip directly into it with a kalk reactor.

I use them to house live eels and live shiners in the bait shop I own. They take a beating and never show any ill effects. I got mine at a local garden supply place. They had to order them for me but it only took a couple of days. The way I understand it, they come in sizes 55 gal. and up. I have 2 75 gal. and 1 100 gal. so they must come in a wide variety of sizes. Good luck.
