Wet Skimmate vs. Dry Skimmate

Why is dry skimmate better than wet? Everyone always tells me to raise the collection cup in my remora till the foam is dry, whats wrong with leaving it down and getting wet skimmate?

The reason is because the dry skimmate doesnt take as much water from your tank during skimming.

Wet skimming takes out more of the bad stuff, keeps you skimmer cleaner, but takes more work at emptying collection cups, or large waste containers (mine is 7 gallons). I adjust my salinity every week from about 1.0245 to 1.025, not too big of a deal.
