hello,

I'm moving and I'm trading all my livestock to the LFS and I'm getting 2 175W metal halide retrofit kits w/bulbs, a canister filter, and I also want to get a calcium reactor.

1. What is the best calcium reactor out of these manufacturers? (Aquatic Life Systems, Advanced Reef Technologies, or www.aquaclearaquatics.com) These are who the LFS orders from. If you've never heard of them, what should I look for?

2. Will I need anything other than a pH controller, CO2 regulator with needle valve, CO2 tank?

My goal is to move up to stony corals and clams. Is there any other equipment I'll need?

Thanks,

I've never heard of either of those. I have a 75 and use a Geo 6X10, you'll have to dial down the reactor pretty far unless you have a bunch of corals. You need the reactor, PH meter, PH controller is optional, regulator, check valve for CO2 line is reccomended, feed pump (normally a maxijet). If I were you and was looking for a single chamber reactor I'd go with reverse flow like the Geo.

Look into mail/Net order for a GEO, Precision Marine, Barr Aqautics, or Schuran Pico unit...

All very good and reliable and as "no fuss" as Ca reactors get (which is still a lot of fussing, actually)...

What's the canister filter for...?

The only problem I have with my GEO is that my tank cal. demand is so low that I have to set my regulator to about 15BPM which is even hard with my $150 ReefFanatics regulator. Besides that its top quality construction.

GEO here just replace valves with finer metering valves on the smaller setup thats what I did.. I am just anal when it comes to valves and like a finer adjustment.
