Stainless Steel Thermometer

Hello all,

I am aware that we don't want metal in our tanks. But, what about the very cheap($2.99), stainless steel, alcohol type, hang on thermometer?

Can I keep one of them in my saltwater storage tank (so I can make sure my replacement water is close to my tank in temperature)?

Without knowing the grade of stainless, it is hard to say whether it will rust, but it is likely OK to try it.
