Just an observation. It's amazing how quickly water clarity can degrade. I have a sumpless tank with a prizm pro skimmer and the pump to the skimmer quit 2 weeks ago so i have had no carbon in the system during that time(i have carbon in the media basket, provided with skimmer, 24/7). The skimmer, with carbon, has now been going 24 hours and my lps that aren't shaded are showing signs of too much light:eek1:. I know it's not water quality because my red brain is half in shade and half not and the half that is shaded is expanding normally. So in 2 weeks my water clarity was bad enough to affect how much light was getting in the tank.
