Just wondering for people who have an Oceanic 180 gallon tank (72" with center brace):

If you place a 3-bulb MH lighting fixture over the tank, such as a 72" Maristar or Coralife Aqualight Pro, how does it work out with the center MH bulb over the center brace?

Is there much problem with a shadow in the center? And will the MH bulb damage the center brace?

I had three pendents over a 210 same footprint and It worked fine. I was able to put them where I wanted them unlike a complete fixture.

I have a 90 gallon with 3 MH over it - the center brace directly under the 400 W Radium. There is a slight shadow (mostly because the color temperature of the blue bulb versus the 2 10K's I have straddling it.

See my thread (listed in my signature) for a nice big picture of it - and some ideas on how to keep the heat from damaging the centerbrace - because I'm told, it will do that.

Thanks James, nice work on your tank.

The Oceanic centre braces are glass so I'm not sure if they will be OK under the MH or not, hopefully some people with Oceanics will chime in.

I have an Oceanic 180 with the glass center brace with metal halides.
I have 1 metal halide directly over the center brace and I have no problems with it.
