randy. you have been a great help in the past. so here i am again. the systeem is a 850 gallon sps dominated tank. tank is about 550 gallons with a sump that is a 350 gallon rubbermaid.

i have noticed ove the years a benifit when dosing iodide. as well as others like strontium.

for cost savings can you direct me to or give me some input. 'receipie" for making an iodide supp and strontium supp.

calcium and alk are controlled through top off water going through a kalkwasser reactor. i found this to work better than may korrallian calcim reactor.

thanks

I don't believe that you will find any home made strontium supplements unless you have access to a chemical supply company.

While I don't prefer it, some folks dose Lugols solution for iodine which can be obtained at some pharmacies. It is a mixture of I- and I2, and the reason that I don't prefer it is because of the I2. That said, many folks have used it for many years. At the moment, I do not dose any iodine. FWIW, most iodine supplements are fairly inexpensive and since so little is dosed, the costs are low.
