I just purchased a bottle of Liquid Life CoralPlankton at a local fish store. When I went to dispense the product nothing would come out of the bottle. I opened the bottle and the entire contents was frozen solid. Since the instructions indicate that the product should be stored in the freezer, I'm assuming something isn't right with the bottle I've purchased.

Should I take it back to the fish store? If it's frozen solid and thens thaws in my freezer (at a lower temp than LFS) will the product still be good?

Thanks in advance.

just to be safe i would take it back, that way you can just get a new bottle and not risk it if it doesnt thaw out great.

I'm confused... It is supposed to be frozen right? So if it is frozen, then what is the problem? I have some of that and I keep mine in the freezer. When I use it I just set it out for about 5 minutes or so, use then put back in freezer.

After doing a little more research on RC I found that CoralPlankton should be refrigerated, not frozen. Their other product Bioplankton states that it should be frozen.

My question is... Should it have been refrigerated at the LFS and not frozen? Is the product damaging in anyway by freezing it?

After reading the the instructions on the bottle it states "REFRIGERATE ONLY". Should have done this first instead of listening to the LFS.

Does anyone know if the product is damaged by being frozen?

Are you sure it's CoralPlankton you have and not BioPlankton? I've read that BioPlankton should be kept frozen and CoralPlankton should be refrigerated.

I'm wondering if they're not both kept frozen from the manufacturer to the retailer and once opened, the CoralPlankton should be refrigerated?

I found an old brochure on both products and it states the following for Bioplankton...

"BP is dated for a 12 month shelf life and should always be stored in a freezer."

and the following for CoralPlankton...

"CP has a four month shelf life and should always be refrigerated."

I still question whether or not CoralPlankton should have been sold frozen.
