I just got some phosban and I was reading the back and it says that it is ferric oxide hydroxide and if im not mistaken I learned in chemistry that hydroxiedes are always part of "basic" substances as opposed to acidic substances so I guess what im asking is will this "basic" substance lower my pH over time due to it's hydroxide content?

Hydroxides that dissolve will raise pH. Like calcium hydroxide used to make limewater. Ferric hydroxide, however, does not dissolve enough to have a significant impact on pH in marine systems in that way.
