I have this really cool 6" Easter Island statue that is cast out of resin and I was wondering if resin's toxic in a marine tank?

Resin is a broad word covering many different polymeric substances. It's likely OK, but do you know what kind of resin?

I agree. It is a broad term applying to many plastics and other materials. It is probably OK. You might check it for a few days in salt water to make sure it doesn't seem to be dissolving.

That's a good idea, I think I'm going to put it in a small drinking glass full of salt water for about 2 or 3 weeks and see if it dissolves or a greasy layer appears on top. Thanks for the info...

That sounds good. If it turns out to be a problem, please pop back and let us know.

Happy Reefing. :)
