1)Whats the chemical composition of a common nail...?

2)I will be doing an experiment with a 2cm or 1/2 inch nail in a 70 gallon complete volume sistem, to see if the macro-algae filter grows faster. Do you see any danger (toxic) with this?

Here it is:
Would an Iron nail be bad? (http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=159994&highlight=nail)
Some good insights.
