Randy,

Besides maintaing calcium and alkalinity are there any other major or minor trace elements that a calcium reactor will maintain???

Depending on the media that you use, it can help maintain some things, such as magnesium, strontium,and possibly some trace elements such as iron. Despite the title, I address how CaCO3/CO2 reactors deliver magneisum and strontium in this article:
