Hi Randy,

I'm curious about the rust on my pvc cutter. I've wipe/cleaned most of the rust on the knife/metal part but I still get some rust imprinted on my PVC as I cut the pipe. Should I worry about rust getting into my tank? How much harm (if any) if I were to get some rust in my water?

Thanks

My expectation is that it is not a problem. Rinse with water to get rid of the bulk, and don't worry about thin smears. :)

Thank you!

I can cut my PVC w/o worries. =O]

the way to clean rusty tools is get a 5gal bucket and fill it half way with play sand, then keep jabbing into the sand with the tool like a kid at the beach, after 10 or 20 times your tool will be cleaned of rust.
i do the same thing with rusty shovels and garden tools but i add a quarter of a quart of motor oil to the sand and it lubricates as it cleans.
but don't use the oil for your aquarium tools, just use sand. the sand acts like sand paper.
