Every year when it starts to get cold the house gets closed up. I allways thought it was the in door co2 that caused the problem. It is but not because of any thing normal. It all started two weeks ago, the furnace went out. The house got really cold tanks were down to 72. But the ph went up..hmmm . Then we replace the heater with a new one. No more ph problem.

Old heater ph reading 7.6 to 8.0.
New heater ph reading 8.0 8.3 nothing else has changed. So the old heater must of been putting something like lots of co2 into the house air.

Randy does this sound like I found the problem?

That certainly does sound like it was a big source of the CO2 if the pH rose that much. You're lucky in that if it is putting out a lot of CO2, it could also have been putting out a lot of carbon monoxide, which is very toxic to people.

So hopefully your pH problem is solved permanently. :)
