The best way to get live rock to look like that is lighting and calcium. I dose Kalkwasser/Warner 2 part calcium, and for lighting use either coralife
actinic and 10,000k straight bulbs or Power Compacts actinic/10,000k.
The rock just explodes with coralline algae.
Not to mention every surface in the tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kept 15lbs of the same rock to seed future rock, and the walls of the vat is already getting covered with pink and purple coralline
The dead coral rock I add is also already getting covered.
I'm selling the rock, to purchase corals. Growing new rock is no problem.

Doesn't caluerpa have bubbles?
Is it the caluerpa that goes sexual when it doesn't get enough light?
