What will an eighth-can of play-doh, left unattended, do to a twenty-gallon reef tank containing soft corals?

Sorry can't help you. But if my memory serves, play doh is made of some food materials, some of them are vegetable oil and food grade dye.

Given the ingredient list below, I think it will be OK. I'd keep up the aeration to deal with possible low O2 as the flour is broken down, and maybe run some carbon to take up any organics that you can (like dyes).

from the Haasbro web sitte:

http://www.hasbro.com/playdoh/pl/page.faq/dn/default.cfm

"What are the ingredients in PLAY-DOH compound?

The exact ingredients of PLAY-DOH compound are proprietary, so we cannot share them with you.

We can tell you that it is primarily a mixture of water, salt and flour. It does NOT contain peanuts, peanut oil, or any milk byproducts. It DOES contain wheat.

PLAY-DOH compound is non-toxic, non-irritating & non-allergenic except as noted:
Children who are allergic to wheat gluten may have an allergic reaction to this product.

There is no MSDS sheet required for PLAY-DOH compound."

OK, thanks for the help! It went unnoticed for a while, so I was pretty worried. I'll use a little more carbon.
