We recently replaced our Mag 9.5 return pump with a Mag 12. Nothing else changed at the time. As far as we can see, the flow rate seems almost identical to what it was with the 9.5. We were expecting a significant increase; in fact, I had been concerned about our overflow box (just a single corner overflow) being able to keep up with the pump.

We have a 1" return pipe with 3 90-degree elbows and 2 45-degree elbows. There is a 1" bulkhead in the side of the sump, which is connected to the pump via a short length of 3/4 ID tubing.

Increase the size of your intake plumbing.

I failed to communicate the details. The pump is submerged in the sump.

Can you replace the PVC with flexible tubing? I think what's slowing your flow so much is all the elbows.

Ok, but my original question stated that I replaced a Mag 9.5 with a Mag 12 and did not notice much of a change. Surely the elbows wouldn't impact the 12 so much more than the 9.5 that it would negate the 50% more water that it should be moving?
