I have been keeping freshwater and africans for years. Now (with the several kicks in the butt from the wife and kids) I'm going to give salt a try. The plan for now is fish and live rock. I'm still doing the research on how to do this and so on but I have one question. Is there any reason I can't use a wood tank? I have built may wood tanks for freshwater and can't see any reason why they won't work for salt.
Thanks

BTW, awesome site. I have learned so much over the past week my head is going to explode.

Shouldn't have any problems with using it if you haven't had problems with it before. I think the only thing to worry about is using like windex directly on the glass or any chemicals.

Great, thank you. The tank I have planned is going to be between 150 and 180 gallons, if I had to do that with all glass I wouldn't be able to do it. 1/2"glass here is about $18sqft, and I don't even want to think how much acryilc would be.
