I bought a large colony of Zoanthids, GSP and Yellow Polyps on Live rock. It has been in my tank for 2 months, and only now do I see a little brown crab loitering amid the rock. I assume it hitchhiked on the Live Rock.I've never seen a crab in my tank, until last night.

The little bugger is camera shy. So no pictures.

It is about half a centimeter wide including the legs. Brown with no special markings. He looks very much like the little brown crabs you find under rocks on the West Coast, up here..

Seems to peek out from under its rock, whenever I feed the fish (Prime Reef, Frozen Formula 1 and 2, and Mysis) but I've not seen it eat anything.

What are the chances it could be a brown emerald crab, or some other noninvasive crab? Any suggestions on what type of crab it might be, I'll look up the info if you could provide names.. Thanks so much.

Emerald crabs are pretty reliably green, IIRC. This article (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-12/rs/index.htm) might help you. If you can get a picture, you could ask Dr Shimek in his forum.
