Green Algae on Live Rock

just started my tank and purchased some live rock. the rock has coralline algae but also has green hair algae all over it. i can't buy a cleaning crew until the tank is cycled. is there anything i can do besides manually removing it? will running the tank with no lights work?

Don't run the lights during the cycle. The hair algae might die off if it's still there afterward then get the cleaning crew.
