Help Identify

This is just randomly floating through my tank...this is the second one I've found...the first I crushed as to my ignorance being new to the hobby.....this time I was told to post the pictures and see what happens....i held to the light looks like its alive...someone told me they think it could be a barnacle...ANY help is greatly appreciated as ill be moving to a 46 gal soon and would like to know what this is..

sorry at the office all day.....the unknown item is no more than 1 inch in every direction...i will post more pics later tonight...my friend says that its more than likely a barnacle which is a good thing...haha.....pictures in about an hour
