Does this setup look ok to you guys? I'm plumbing my new 120 and would like some input. Posted this in DIY and got minimal response so I thought I'd post it here too. Thanks.

I'd take off the pipe that goes to the bottom its not needed

^I agree. If it gets clogged with debris, you'll have a flood.

Thanks for the replies. Out of curiosity though, isn't the slotted pipe a common Durso modification? I mean it's even on the website. Has this mod been failing?
Again i appreciate the advice, i'm just curious.
Dan.

I made my pipe extend only about 6 inches down. I also got some unpleasant noise from the vent hole on top, so I took a threaded fitting and put a elbow on there and ran some hose on there running down under my tank, then at the end of that hose I have a ball valve that I can fine tune. No more noise :)

It sounds like you made the vent hole too big.

I dunno, I started small and gradually kept getting bigger. If it were too small, I would get flushing action, too big got real noisy. I just couldn't get it to be quiet. I went through 3 end caps. Anyhow, it's all fixed now.

It looks OK.

Looks fine to me. IMHO, the stainer will help prevent a clog, not cause one - if you keep it clean. With an open pipe, it only takes one big object to cause a clog - a snail, for instance. Whereas with a loooong slotted pipe like that, it would take a ton of big or little stuff hitting it all at the same time.

Alright, the slotted pipe strainer looked like a good idea for the reasons you mentioned, so that's why I went with it. A little Krylon Fusion on the visible plumbing and I should be ready for water in a few days. Thanks alot for all the responses.
Dan.
