everything is going well in my tank after almost 2 months, but I have onr rock that has bubble algae growing on it. I have pulled the strands off as much as I can, but it is back in days. Any one know how to get rid of it?

it will pass. be patient. light duration, excess nutriants, cleaner crew. there are great threads and posts about this topic and "the process"..

i've been battling them everyday. I see bubbles growing on my sand bed which I manually pull out. A couple on my rocks but not too many.

Seems like i'm going to be stuck w/ this for a loooooong time.

And the emerald crab route ddint' work for me

bubbles from the sand bed?? as in air bubbles. thats harmless nitrogen gas. that a sign of a good sand bed.

Emerald crabs will eat it.

Thanks everyone, so far.
Guess I need to find a couple emerald crabs then. I was at 2 LFs today, and both of their stock was nill on anything. They both get their deliveries on Friday, so guess I need to get there on Friday night.

I had bubble algae bad once I got 5 emeralds they cleaned it up in no time. I gave 2 away and kept 3 and have never had it again.I have heard of some people not having as good of luck. Good Luck!

I was told today by another hobbyist that emerald crabs will go after your fish. I hadn't heard this before. Has anyone experienced this?

my sally light foot crab took care of my bubble algae problem.

You can check in Dr Shimek's forum for information on emerald crabs. They can be predatory, as can sally lightfoot crabs, but the odds probably are with you, should you choose to get some.

I beat bubble algae by reducing my feeding and adding Chaetomorpha to outcompete it. That, plus a bit of handpruning, and it's not an issue anymore.
