I put some new stuff in yesterday, and had a few questions. First, the GSP's haven't extendeded their green polyps yet, and I just see purple mats (which look pretty cool :)). Should it be out by now (added later yesterday).
Does it look like I placed them in good spots in the tank?
How does the torch coral look like it's doing?

The large frag of gsp has some dangling pieces of the mat ... can those be broken off (front upper left)?

the gsp's should be fine, and yes you can break off the peices that are dangleing, but results may vary, if you want to frag it, your best bet would be to put a peice of rubble next to it and let it spread onto that rock

Not trying to frag it.. it just looks awkward with the dangling pieces.

I'm going to wait to see what it looks like after the green comes out though.

I just added some GSP in my tank las week, and they didn't start to open until five days later. On the sixth day (today), they opened up completely. Good flow over the GSP is essential, and will help them spread (to the point of being a nuisance for some aquarists).

I forgot to add that my Ph was a little low, so once I added a buffer, the polyps started to open. I don't know if it's related, but I wouldn't be surprised.

pH is pretty much where it's been. But the pH may have been higher at the lfs. We'll give it some time. They don't need a lot of light do they, because I did add them to my tank in a slightly dimmer spot then they were in, in the tank before this?
