Can anyone recommend a submergible water pump with a head pressure of 30+ feet?
Thank you, mel

The pressure-rated Iwaki MD-70RZT can pump 600 gph with a
30-foot vertical head, but this is a big, expensive, external pump.
I doubt any submersible pump can pump 30-feet vertically.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need to pump such a large
vertical distance? Is your sump in the basement of a 3-story
building?

Pumping horizontally has no head pressure. Some flow loss
occurs due to friction in the pipes, but this loss is negligible
compared to vertical head pressure loss. As the pipe diameter
grows larger, this friction loss grows less.

If the vertical distance from your sump to the top of your tank is
4-feet, then this 4-foot head loss significantly reduces the
flow rate (perhaps 30% of the pump rating). But if the sump and
tank are in different rooms which are 30+ feet apart, the
horizontal distance does not reduce the flow enough to worry
about (perhaps 50 - 100 gph or so).

Here's a good resource from another reef site...
