Hi Everyone,

I decided to get a SW tank about 3-4 momths ago. After a lot of reading and research I took the plunge and started with my obsession.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my tank (still cycling) with all of the RC members who I owe a lot of thanks too to get me where I am

Please feel free to comment ;)

Full shot!

thanks fishoniac,

only planning on keeping softies, so using fluros. two daylight and two actinics. A tank at a local collectors shop has the exact same lighting on a deeper tank and his soft corals are all flourishing.

Very nice rock layout. What size is the tank?

Your off to a great start! I too learned all I could from RC before I got started. I unfortunately did not have as much patience as you and went without the fuge. You will not regret that decision. The best advice I can give you is make sure you don't give in to impulse buying. I remember my first stocking trip to LFS I just had to buy something and paid way to much for something I now would not have bought. As the say in the buisness world: Plan your work and Work your plan. Congradulations on a great start.

thanx guys ;)

cwbroden, the tanks dimensions are 48" long x 20" wide x 26" high. The rock layout is basically layed out to hide the overflows and i think it has turned out ok (took me about three goes to get it right) ;)

cabbagehead, I agree, i am finding it so hard to stop myself from going out and buying lots of goodies ;) The cycle is pretty much over, but because I'm going away for a week, it will force me to wait another week just to make sure all the params are stable...

Actually, I would love some feed back regarding the below list.

Our fish wish list consists of:

2 x occelaris clowns
2 x lyretail anthias (male/pink and female/orange)
1 x blue tang
1 x dwarf angel (flame, coral beauty or bi-colour)
1 x blenny (bicolour or algae)
1 x flame hawkfish

I believe all these fish are peaceful and relatively easy for beginners. I am aware of the possibility that the angel might pick at some softies but we just love them! ;)

stocking will be a slow process

Does anyone have any advice or things to watch out for regarding the above list or stocking order?

thanks ;)

I have a flame angel in my 55gal and it is my favorite fish. I have not had any problems with my flame picking at my corals. All I have are mushrooms , softies and a few LPS.
