It has been a year since I set up the lighting over my 180. Fixture is an Aqua Space light.

I want to get new 250w 20k bulbs. I am confused by all the the brand and initial options.

need to compare:
Blueline HQI
XDE HQI
Geisemann Mega Chrome DE
Ushio HQI
Aqualine Musche HQI

I have been unable to find an Aqualine 20k double ended bulb.
What Does HQI stand for? XDE? DE?

Maybe someone has a link to bulb comparisons. Thanks.

This should be made into a sticky ;)

On the other hand I'm looking to trade my Sunburst 250w MH for a HQI retrofit kit, anyone have one....Might even go with a 150w setup...

Yeah, all the pertinent info is in the articles. If you want to compare lamps and look at all the data in one place go to this website that I created

Thanks for all the links. Now I can make sence of all the post it notes lying on my desk. After this afternoons reading, at least I now know DE stands for double ended. Sanjay, thanks for the added site link.
