Hello all,

I have a fungia plate that is not doing so hot ( at all ! ). I am fighting off red slime... I belive that the slime hurt the fungia ... is this possible? There is no slime on the fungia at this point ... but the skeleton is showing around the edges in some places. WILL this thing come back to health if I get the water perameters fixed??? if not ... should I get the thing out of the tank and just let it go????

my water is at 1.025 .... nitates are about 15 ppm ... ph is at about 8.1- 8.0 I just tested calcium today and it is LOW 300 !

it is a 29 gallon tank with a wet dry hang on skimmer type filter ... I just yesterday added a mini quad Amiracle protein skimmer ( hoping to help with the nitrates .... )

Lighting wise.... I have 2 65 watt pc bulbs ... one actinic and one 10,000k ....

the test kits I have are .... ph . nitrate. calcium ( salifert )
what other tests do I need ???

I use Kent marine pro buffer dkh ... and Kent marine coral accel ...

I am going to go get something for the calcium buffing tomorrow.

any advice and suggestions on water and this fungia will be appreciated...

Jeff

Your lighting is a little on the low side for a fungia. How often have you been feeding it and what do you feed?
