does it stay put or does it move around much, does it sting?

it only moves around the sandbed it will not go onto the rocks usually it dose not move at all unless I move him then he moves back. I'm not sure about the stinging but it always touches my cabbage leather and that is thriving in my tank

is it just a single mushroom and how big is the candycane

I could give you a few types of mushrooms, some red, some purple, and a brown hairy if you wish ? the only candy cane left is the size of o softball, if you really want that I'll have to frag it, and I have some green star pollips too, let me know
