is a moon light necessary?

i was wondering if it is really necessary to have a moon light if i wanted to add some shrooms & polyps....is leaving my actinic pc on too strong to use as a nite light?

no moon lighting is not necessary, yes your actinic is too strong.

I use a single blue Christmas tree bulb for my nightlight. It is about 5 or 7 watts (the old fashioned bulb, not the mini bulbs-they are low voltage wired in series on the string). I picked up a cord with 1 outlet-designed to be used with the little Christmas buildings.
