After seven weeks of frustration with this place. I had to call my credit card company and the attorney general of No. Carolina. The guy has lied to me over and over again.I must be the only customer who been shipped something 3 times and never received.The guy is either a fraud or has the worst customer service. Stay away

What or who exactly is sano? However i'm going to come to his defense here and say that I nor anyone i know has ever had a problem with him. In fact i have (and so has everyone else i know that has delt with him) found him to be extremely helpful. He has many times helped me out and answered all of my questions. Specificly what was shipped that you didn't recieve and how did he "lie to you"? He also has good prices and good customer service from what i've seen. I personally would be interested in hearing some details and supporting evidense instead of vague referenses:

BTW Its spelled references. 1) ordered Oct 1st, said it would be mailed the next day.Waited 2 weeks,called back. Said UPS had lost my order, Would check into and call me right back. 2) waited another week, no call. said he wasnt sure what happend,would resend.3) waited 2 weeks and called, said he would call me back right back. Never did. 4) last Monday i called, he said it went out that day and he would call back with the tracking #'s. He never called back.5)I called today to cancell my order today and he said he would call my credit card company. He never did. Am i being VAGUE? DO I DESERVE A CALL BACK FROM THIS GUY? SHOULD I WAIT 7 WEEKS FOR AN ORDER? This guy is a fraud!

I'm sympathetic with Phismon here. It sounds like just your average uncooperative customer case to me. One thing people have to keep in mind is that the retailer will often treat the customer how the customer has treated them. Like it or not it's a proven fact that if your ill tempered with someone then they'll be ill tempered back.
Massa, I'd say call him one final time, and REMAIN CALM. Explain to him what has happened, and what you would like to happen. Allow him to explain himself and then you can both work out a solution to this problem. Don't allow him to hang up and don't hang up on him even if you dont like how things are going. Keep talking until things are resolved. I know you're probably frustrated and want to get this resolved ASAP, but patience is key here.
Also, no offense is meant by this post massatack, I'm just suggesting helpful tips that I've learned from both being a customer and working in a LFS :)

More spacing, capitalization, and maybe slander problems here.;)
Please accept this post in the humorous light hearted way it is intend. Make you point about your experience, but don't start attacking spelling and grammar of others. It weakens your argument, and after reading the spelling and grammar in your post, I think it is quite humorous. I make errors and typo's all the time, but I never would criticize someone else (Well almost never ;))

I know this guy has alought of support on the boards, but its ridiculous that i have to wait 2 months for this. Rich told me it had been sent three times. Finally he produced tracking #'s. There is one final lie though. He tells me he's sending it out 2nd day air- suprise, suprise, its sent ground.

Well it's good that he's finally shipping it. He DID say he had been having a major comm snafu, the shipping process is probably a result of this. Drop shipping is also a pain in the butt process and probably contributed the most to the latency of the shipment. It does make it hard to trust anybody when they don't do what they say they're going to do, I'd let phismon know how you feel, just be sure to do so in a CALM and civilized manner, instead of just going off on him.
Also, you need to think about your attitiude and they maybe you'll realize WHY you getting the reactions your getting. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.
Before you call me an Aquatic Ecosystem Cronie, know that I have never ordered from the particular company, so have no reason to be loyal to it. I've just heard too many good things about the company to let one "snafu" make me think that the company is a fraud.
AND Capt. Dave, i wouldn't comment on his mispelling of alot, I smell a trap...

fwiw I bought alot of drop shipments from other vendors who never had any problems. So i don't know what the problem with drop shimpents is. I've bought stuff from vendors who emailed me back right away saying they can't get the goods can i wait or not. It's called communication without it I would be p*ssed also. I would NOT buy from anyone who didn't satisfy my needs reguardless of how many ppl were happy with them. But I only bought from jeffs exotics ,marine depot and premium aquatic and Never had bad service or later orders without my approval. FWIW

I really hat to put in my two cents, but I will. The comment about the customer getting treated badly by the retailer is just PLAIN WRONG. I make a living( a really good living) as a retail sales manager, and if the customer is wrong, at MOST you walk away and get someone else to talk to them. Not only is treating a customer rudely a bad business move, it also puts you on the same level as them. The only problem is, YOUR NOT ON THE SAME LEVEL, YOU ARE THE RETAILER, its your job to make your customer happy. In my opinion, Marine Ecosystems should make right on the order ALOT faster than what they did. Also, according to the details given, I really don't feel that they have done enough for the customer on this incident. Some repayment or compensation is due, such as shipping, free merchandise, a sincere letter of apology, and not some email wrote and blasted off durring break. You see as a retailer, it is our responsibility to take the loss in a situation like this and immediately ship another unit out and email the customer with a tracking number, that way all blame is off of you. Also, if this was not done because it would be too "costly" to ship another unit out, then well, that speaks for itself, that means the business is not really much of a "business" and more of a, well, I don't know what kind of business you call that. A real business would have INSURANCE TO COVER A LOSS LIKE THAT. Oh well....just my ramblings and two cents, don't mean to make anyone mad. Also, go ahead and check my spelling and grammar. I know it sucks, I said I was a retailer not an english major, but just to let you know, Capt. Dave...that message was FUNNY AS HELL.

Although Massatack kinda shot himself in the foot in this discussion by pointing out grammer mistakes, I have to side with him on this one. Seriously, not calling someone back is not a communication snafu, its called being rude and having POOR customer service. A communication snafu would be if your server went down and you lost an email or two. He is just covering for his poor service.

Here's the bottom line guy's. MY unit is on the way after 7 weeks. If Rich would have told me the truth and said Dave at Reefpure was to blame i would have NO problem. But to tell me it had been shipped two times when it had not, is bulls**t. The only reason i post is so others can learn from my experience.

You have to keep in mind that Rich is at Dave's mercy here. If Dave told Rich your unit shipped, then he has to believe it was and tells you the same. Until you contact Rich again, he has no way of knowing anything other than the info Dave provided.
Same thing on shipping. He tells Dave to send it 2nd day, Dave agrees then ships UPS ground, how is Rich to know?
I've never made a purchase from Rich, but I do know him from various online venues (BB's, IRC, etc.). He is a knowledgeable person, always willing to help out a fellow reefer. I know he would never mislead anyone purposely. In this case he was just caught in the middle. Something that could happen to any vendor relying on drop shipping merchandise. And believe me, almost all the online vendors drop-ship at one time or another.
Hopefully this entire incident will be resolved to Massatack's satisfaction.

hmmm where did I hear sano was the best thing to happen?? along time ago?? Can't always trust the make/retail/manager whatever. Any one can steer you wrong thant my point. No matter how nice they are in the chat. If you sell a product its the sellers resonsiblity to follow up .. or at least return your email. a drop shipment has a tracking ## also. there no excus in my book.
Didn't want this to be my first post but I've got to speak up.
After 8 and 1/2 weeks I finally received my system. Not one e-mail was answered, no apologies were made, shipping dates were lied about, and It took a third party (local reef central member) to intervene on my behalf before marine ecosystems even responded. NOT the way to do business.
Remember the saying "First time shame on them, second time shame on you"
P.S. I don't care about the spulingg or Grammar.:D
