wet/dry filter refugium?

i have a wet/dry filter, and was wondering if you could use one side as a refugium. is it to small, it measures 24 long by 12 deep and 14 high, dont know much about refug but seems like it might work

There have been a few discussions about doing this. I belive the conclusion was it could be done by adding some baffles to make the water deeper. I removed my wet dry and replaced it with a 10 gallon tank that I use as a sump/refug.
