which snails are good for a reef/clam tank? looking for some decent detrivores for a 140 tank, 1100+ watts mh/vho lighting, plenty of water movement (wave2k), protein skimmer/refugium/sump/calcium reactor all being used, and uv sterilizer if needed. i like all the little crawlers all over the place, but i do not know which to get. nass-vibex, ill-nass, nas obsolet, etc. what does it all mean? are they all just the same snail with a different name?

and has anyone found luck with ebay for snails?

thanks for your help......

Astrea, Margarita or Nauserus are good.

Nauserus = Nassarius, I think.

Turbos and ceriths are also ok.

watch the nassarius. I believe the tonga nassarius (very large in comparison to most nassarius I've seen) will eat T. Maximas...
