just a little info

i currently have a 45 gallon tank that contains:

1 maroon gold clown
1 yellow tang
1 lawnmower blennie
1 flame angel
a few various shrimp, crabs, and snails

i am looking to add another fish probably a blue, green, or purple color....any suggestions?

You should remove the tang. There have been numerous posts about the size tank a tang needs. I have a 55 and wouldn't put 1 in there because it is to small.

Ditto on the tang.
Get some green chromis and a Yellow Citroen Goby to replace the tang's yellow element.

hmmmm.....not sure what to do with it then....ordered it online and most of the LFS near me are certain death to marine life...they have very bad pratices. plus i am kinda attached to it...been having it a while.

do all gobies dig all the sand out from under your rocks....had one and just gave it away because it made my rocks collapse twice...had numerous other problems with him as well (sifting sand on corals, covering rocks with sand, you get the picture)

No, the gobies i mean are not sifters, they are pearchers.
If you offer the tang here on RC and or on your local reef club, that may be an option.

of course...you could always take the excuse to get a bigger tank ;)

I wouldn't add any more fish.

You will see a million posts that debate the tang issue. If the tang is small you shouldn't have any problems. If it starts outgrowing your tank you could put a post up to trade for something else.

I had a yellow tang, flame angle, and a clarki clown in my 55 and everyone seemed very happy. FYI

Even if you were to keep the tang, take into consideration for the adult size of the fish you have. I'd say you're at your limit. Even if you wanted to add one more fish between the tang, angel and maroon, your new fish would constantly get harrassed.
