I have heard that adding Kalk to my 55 gallon FOWLR tank will help the coraline algae grow. I am totally unfamilular with kalk, can some of you explain it to me? Mixing, dosing, addint to the tank ect...

After reading those articles Snakebyt, consider using pickling lime for making your kalkwasser. Mrs. Wages pickling lime is used by many folks and works just as well as commercially available kalkwasser powder. There's a HUGE price difference. 1 lb of pickling lime can be bought for $1.50 vs. $15-$20 for Kent Kalkwasser. Pickling lime can be bought in the canning section of your local stores.
