do 20k halides get whitter as they get old?

My 20k XMs burned into a brighter white after about 100hrs of use, but other than that they did not get any whiter. They now look kind of like a 14k, maybe slightly bluer than a 14k.

mine are radiums that are almost 1 year old and are looking very much like 10k's to me.

Yes.. and I'd highly suggest changing them before much longer. I ran my Radium's on an HQI ballast for only a few hours a day, thinking I could get a year out of 'em... after a year, I started losing corals...

Well I got a XM in there now and I still have a radium and I gotta say the diffrence is night and day half the tank in a blueish white(xm 20k) the other is just white(radium). So looks like I need to buy another light.
