What are the dimensions of the Eclipse 6? Maybe you could fit a Current USA 32watt retro powercompact.

If a 28/32w pc bulb is too long ( I think it might be - it's about 17" long then you also have the socket) you could easily fit a 2x13w retro kit that ahsupply has see here (http://www.ahsupply.com/twox.htm).

It's pretty cheap too, I know how important that can be when you are still in school.

You would be able to keep shrooms and zoas under that light decently I would think, especially if you get it with the reflectors.

For my 6 gal eclipse I bought an 18 watt minimight fixture. IT fit perfect with the original filter. Check out the tank.

You might want more light, but for the time I had my tank it
worked and everything in the tank lived.
But, I would go with the 2 x13w retrofit, you can mount it right to the canopy. Your going to need a fan. I bought at frys, it was quiet and I placed over the filter were the biowheel is. It worked perfectly to cool the water.
