reef tank or just fish?

which tank requires less maintenance, and is there a large gap or are they generally equal?

Hi Dale. I srarted a reef tank 6 months ago. there is not any difference between the two. If you add Mushroom Corals, Leather Corals, Bush Corals ,and any other soft Corals, you will not have to do anything, apart from adding vitamin supplements to your tank.

With fish there is a little less to worry about. Reef tanks do require more work and additional tests a fish only would not require.

Still, the reward from both is great.

I would go with a reef... Its not that much more work as long as you stick with some simple zoanthids or mushrooms...
