OK......we will be setting up our 125 in April when we move. Upgrading from our current 55. The fish we have now are one royal gramma, one 4 striped damsel, and two bicolor chromis. We have had these four fish together since early May and getting rid of them is out of the question. Also the damsel is docile and a complete wuss. So that being said, these are the fish I would like to add to these come April.

- swallowtail angel
- blonde naso tang

They will be kept with various LPS and soft corals. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Kerry

I think that the angel will be fine. The naso tang, however, does get really large, well over a foot. I think I read somewhere that they get to about 18 inches. I think that you'd want to avoid that, like KJMiller said.

Have you guys ever seen dragon slayer's 180? He has a yellow, purple, achilles, sailfin, either a naso or blonde naso. If he has all those tangs in a 180 I don't see why I couldn't get one for my 125.

To me, it's not so much the bioload as the swimming room. I think that if you have a 6 foot tank, you could pull it off. I think for some reason I assumed that yours was only 4 feet. These guys get really big, among the biggest tangs in the home aquarium.

I did take a look at dragon_slayer's tank in the gallery. There's almost a 60 gallon difference between your two tanks. Yours would probably be fine for the yellow, purple and possibly sailfin. But the naso would really like a 6 foot tank. Just my opinion.

My 125 is a six foot tank. It's 72 x 18 & 1/2 x 24 tall. Shouldn't be a problem.

its just one of those things where you learn from other peoples mistakes. if you really care about the welfare of your livestock, you wouldn't want to stick yourself in a 6'x6' room all your life. big tangs like that need i'd say at least an 8' tank just so they can stretch out their legs per say. personally i wouldn't mind getting a small naso, but its up to you

I've just done an extensive search and I'm thinking a Naso might not be a good idea. I would really like to get a tang with nice color for my 125 with the fish listed above. The angel is a definate. Any suggestions on a tang?

Why not a Hawaiian Yellow Tang? Too standard? You can try a chevron tang, they're pretty cool.

I had a yellow before. I'd like something a little more colorful. I was thinking purple but it might be too aggressive as I plan on getting a swallowtail angel and they're peaceful.

A powder blue tang may work if you add it last once the other fish have established them selves. They're a very beautiful tang.

what about the Bristletooth Tomini Tang they are kinda cool looking and would be fine in that tank.http://a1272.g.akamai.net/7/1272/1121/20040331221159/www.liveaquaria.com/images/products/large/p_89248.jpg

they are supost to be really peaceful. They are a little expensive though. here is the site to Liveaquaria's tang info. The Bristletooth is near the bottom.

Powder blues are very beautiful but I've heard of many bad things about them. I know all tangs are ick magnets but it seems like the PBT is really sensitive. I heard they're very mean too. Beautiful but mean.
