I have some sort of hairy crab that actually makes tunnels through LR and limestone base rock. It's not a horta but maybe some sort of gorilla crab that hitchhiked on my Gulf LR. It's imposssible to get a pic of him. Anyone had any experience with rock burrowing crabs? Should I try to eliminate him or let him increase my rock's porosity by letting him tunnel?

Does it look anything like this?

Yes. That looks a lot like him. Should I get rid of him? I haven't seen him destroy any corals yet, but he has made two holes, one in LR and one in baserock.

This looks very much like a crab that I've got in my tank and am trying to ID...don't know about the burrowing but my guy only really comes out at night and I'm finding him difficult to observe...any help would be appreciated!!!

If the hole goes through the rock.....I took the rock out and watched for him to get in view, then took a bamboo skewer and shoved it in the hole and knocked him out the other side....obviously I did this above another tub of water and not the tank. ;)
