Anyone ever seen a plate coral like this?

Has anyone ever seen a plate coral like this before? I've always liked the ones with the pink tips, but when I saw this I had to get it. I have to admit I am a tad bit suspicious because it is so awesome in color, but I have never seen one. Anyone know for sure if these appear naturally, ever seen one before, etc?

cant say i ve ever seen one that color before. if no one can tell you for sure, ask eric b. he should know.

check out the color on this plate from a friends tank , it hasnt changed color in the 3 years that i have known him....

The top looks like heliofungia, and the bottom fungia. I've never seen the heliofungia morph. Heliofungia's are more delicate.

I'd be very suspicious too... lately a lot bright intense yellow corals have been turning up in Bangkok, they are imports from Indonesia.

They change color in about 3 months time, I was told that it is dyed, but cannot really confirm it.

99.9% that coral is dyed.

BTW, how is it doing now??

The orange has a complete different color.

I saw an elegance coral with the same yellow. E. Borneman said it was 99% convinced it was bleached.
