need to move 2 of my clams which have bonded to the lr theyre sitting on. ive read you can do damage when removing them if not carefull. can i cut the whitish goey stuff that tey bond with? whats the best way to remove them without moving the rock theyre stationed on?

Yes it is possible to damage Tridacna clam, when removing clam , so it is not wise to remove clam, if it is not realy needed.

Be careful, not to use to much force. If you will be very brutal, you can even tear apart clam foot .

But in the other hand is not so problematic. Until now I removed clams from the rocks more then 10 times and all clams surrived. If you have enought place to cut under clam, this is quite safe method.

One clam, which is now more then 5 years my aquarium, dont want to fasten on the rock any more, after i removed her form the rock two times. I placed this clam on the sand .

cheers bojan. yea i ended up cutting them off. they're fine now and have allready re bonded to their new positions. staunched
