Im so proud of myself. I have got to figure out how to post a picture of my setup.
I just finished installing my new 10 gal. refugium on my 55 gal tank. I had a hole drilled up towards the top of the tank. I then placed a bulkhead fitting in. Im using a maxi-jet powerhead to pump about 40 gph into my "fug". With the head loss and the three 90 deg. turns it has to make its surely a little less. Im sure its still over 10 gph. That was my minimum.
I didnt know how to rig the return. I was at a loss till I was walking past the aisle in the LFS that had replacement parts for marineland parts. I was using 1/2" ID tubing from the powerhead. A water return for a magnum canister filter fits it perfectly. I also got the bracket that holds it on. Works great!
Still waiting for all the stuff I blew up to clear. Added some sand to the main tank as well. I have floss in the sump trying to help clear it out.
