noisy sump

my friends sump lets out alot of vibration noise from the return pump. It is an external pump i think an iwaki55 and he uses a rubbermaid sump the pump itself is quiet but you can hear it alot more coming from inside the sump. Any idea how he can stop this noise?

Do you have some sort of pad under the pump, made from rubber, old piece of carpet, might help

Many people have luck solving this problem with an old mouse pad. Some have to go even further, and use some flexible plumbing in and out of the pump to absorb vibration. You can buy flexible PVC from here (http://www.savko.com/PartList.asp?pgid=4&ptid=19&pid=36)
